Olly Murs wants to do Strictly Come Dancing just to annoy Simon Cowell

Olly Murs has admitted that he’d absolutely love to take part on The X Factor’s biggest TV rival, Strictly Come Dancing, purely to annoy Simon Cowell.

Ooft, naughty Olly.

The 32-year-old singer was runner up when he took part in the X Factor back in 2009 and later went on to present the show alongside Caroline Flack last year.

Now Olly has revealed that he’s eager to put on his dancing shoes for the BBC – and we wouldn’t want to be him when Si finds out.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show, Olly explained: “I’ve always been open to the idea of ‘Strictly…’, I went down there this year and did a performance and part of me just enjoyed the whole atmosphere, it was really lovely down there and part of me was like I’ll just to do it to wind up Simon Cowell.

“Honestly, I actually just really enjoyed the atmosphere, and learning them sort of dances would be quite fun, but I don’t think I will be doing it anytime soon but never say never.

“I would do it just to be cheeky and have a bit of fun, he (Simon) would be like ‘You’re not doing Strictly are you?’ and I’d be like: ‘Yes I am’.”

However, there is one reality show that Olly definitely won’t do, and that’s ITV’s very own I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The star explained: “I’m not doing ‘I’m A Celebrity…’, I couldn’t eat the things they do in the jungle, absolutely no go.

“I think I’ve done my fair share of reality shows, I’m just concentrating on my music now.”

We’re definitely going to keep our fingers crossed for Olly to be a part of Strictly’s class of 2017 next year…
