Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood opens up about his rent boy past

Craig Revel Horwood has never been one to keep quiet about anything, even the darker side of his rise to fame.

Back in 2013, the 51-year-old Strictly Come Dancing judge first revealed that he’d used prostitution to help pay for his dance lessons in his autobiography ‘All Balls and Glitter’.

Now, Craig has opened up about his rent boy past in a new interview, clarifying the details of his teenage sexual encounters.

Appearing on Here She Is, a gay internet comedy show, Craig was asked if it was true that he’d resorted to prostitution to fund his ambitions, the star replied: “It is true.

“I sold my wares for dance lessons and that’s how I paid for my lessons in Melbourne.”

Craig went on to admit that dance lessons were “expensive” in Australia but he only had one client, a 43-year-old man.

He continued: “I only had the one client – I do have certain morals! It was like the casting couch, so it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

“It was this man who was 43 and I was 17. He said I will pay for your classes but you come away with me and we do the dirty.

“I suppose that could be compared to a lady getting engaged and getting a great big sparkling Tiffany ring – and then breaking off the engagement but keeping the ring.”

Well, that’s certainly one way to look at it!
