William and Kate ‘seriously considering’ big move to Windsor

Prince William and Kate are reportedly 'seriously considering' moving their family to Windsor in order to be closer to the Queen.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge currently split their time between Kensington Palace, where their offices are also located, and their country home of Anmer Hall, in Norfok, on the Queen's Sandringham Estate.

"Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham, but it doesn’t really work any more," a source told the Mail on Sunday.

"It’s a little too far away for weekends, but Windsor is a perfect compromise. They are eyeing up options in the area."

Anmer Hall was a wedding gift from the Queen to William and Kate, and the couple made it their permanent residence between 2015 and 2017.

It is believed the move to Windsor indicates a likelihood William and Kate will take up more responsibility within the royal family, and commute to London when they need to.

It also means William and Kate can provide more support to the 95-year-old Monarch after the death of her husband Prince Philip, as the Queen moved to Windsor Castle permanently after the Covid outbreak in March last year.

The move would also see them, and their children - Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and three-year-old Prince Louis - be closer to Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

It comes after a royal expert claimed Prince Harry and Prince William are reportedly growing closer despite rumours of a feud and the great distance between them. As are Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

"I know that the four are talking with one another and they’re talking by Zoom [and by] FaceTime," Stewart Pearce, author of Diana: The Voice of Change told Us Weekly.

The author added that Harry and Meghan are "very different" from William and Kate, "Their lens on the world is highly individualized."

"And what’s remarkable is that they all totally respect [each other], but this lens is different."
