Angry Cruise Ship Passengers Demand Refund After 'Holiday From Hell'

There was near “mutiny” aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line vessel recently as passengers demanded refunds and complained of a “holiday from hell.”

The 14-day cruise, which left Southampton on September 27, was meant to dock in France, Amsterdam, Norway and Iceland. A stop in Amsterdam was switched to Le Havre, a passenger told Cruise Radio. However, high winds prevented the ship docking there. A stop in Iceland was canceled, and passengers were unable to disembark at Greenock, near Glasgow.

Local reports showed the ship abandoning its attempt to dock at Greenock.

After several days at sea, passengers complained of stale food and toilets not working.

A Twitter account was set up to document the unrest on October 8. Its first tweet complained of “riots” aboard after a fifth docking cancellation of the trip. Videos posted to a YouTube account by the same person show angry confrontations between staff and passengers, and passengers demanding refunds.

A letter from Norwegian Cruise Line was tweeted by the same account, it showed an offer of “25 percent future cruise credit”
