Winners and losers

Stocks in the red include Gap as the clothing retailer missed on earnings claiming it was ‘heavy on inventory,’ Fiat Chrysler, as the auto maker is recalling 4.8 million vehicles and telling drivers to stop using cruise control because of a system failure, and Hibbett Sports – shares dropping as the sporting goods retailer missed on earnings and revenue, with comp sales below estimates as well.

Stocks in the green include Foot Locker, shares rallying following a profit and sales beat, BioMarin Pharmaceutical, as the FDA approved the drugmaker’s treatment for a rare blood disorder, and United Continental Holdings – shares pulling higher as the airline named former FAA head Jan Garvey as its non-executive chair. Garvey will be the first woman to hold that position at United.
