O.J. Mayo, the No. 3 overall pick in 2008, has signed a contract with San German in the Puerto Rican basketball league, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Mayo, 30, has been out of the NBA since receiving a two-year suspension in 2016 for violating the anti-drug program. He will report to Puerto Rico in mid-April and will be eligible to apply for reinstatement into the NBA this summer.

Mayo played eight NBA seasons with Memphis, Dallas and Milwaukee, averaging 13.9 points and 3.1 rebounds. He began his NBA career with the Grizzlies after starring at USC and quickly emerged as a solid scorer. He was an All-Rookie first-team selection in 2009.
