Mother of man killed by Mahmoud Hawi says former bikie boss 'got what he deserved'
The mother of a man killed by a former Comancheros boss has described his killer as a "monster".
Former bikie boss Mahmoud "Mick" Hawi was shot up to 12 times and killed outside Fitness First in Rockdale on Thursday.
Associates and family members of Hawi laid flowers outside the gym in memory of the man with a violent past.
But Fredericka Bromwich, the mother of Anthony Zervas who Hawi bludgeoned to death in a brawl at Sydney Airport in 2009, said the former bikie boss had it coming.
"Mick Hawi got what he deserved, and good on those boys that did it," she said.
"It is karma, because what you do in life comes back to haunt you.
"Now they'll know what I felt, and what my family went through."
Hawi's car was taken away overnight for a more detailed examination, with every vehicle in the carpark dusted for fingerprints.

Detectives are still trying to identify two men who were seen fleeing the scene.
In the search for the murder weapon, authorities have extended the search to the nearby suburb of Kogarah, turning their attention to Chandler Street.
Hawi had a long list of enemies who may have wanted him dead, stemming back from his days in the Comancheros bikie gang.
Crime writer Duncan McNab said bikies are "so utterly unpredictable" and it was hard to determine if Hawi's murder was payback or the beginning of another bikie war.
