Take a Vacation Far, Far Away to See Where the New 'Star Wars' Was Filmed

Over the last couple of days, you may have felt a great disturbance in the Force — as if millions of sci-fi geeks’ hearts suddenly trembled in simultaneous palpitation and were abruptly silenced.

That “disturbance” was the debut of the new trailer for “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.” Friday’s release was 90 seconds of pure joy for “Star Wars” fans waiting for a glimpse, any glimpse, of the upcoming saga, which isn’t due in theaters until December of next year.

So as you wait for the next scrap that director J.J. Abrams and Company decide to toss out to ravenous fans, there’s a way to sate your “Star Wars” appetite while going on a little journey “far, far away.” Why not consider a “Star Wars” pilgrimage to one of the several international locations where “The Force Awakens” filmed (or is rumored to have filmed)? Sure, the Wookie and Jedi and droids are long gone (principal photography ended in November). But the otherworldly vibe of some of these locations is a sci-fi trip in and of itself.
