It's no surprise to fashion followers, Gisele Bundchen is the highest-paid supermodel in the world. According to Forbes, the beachy waved Brazilian made a whopping $42 million (no, that's not a typo) last year.

Gisele's hefty paycheck is mainly due to her merchandising deals with Ipanema flip-flops, a lingerie collection, and several accessories lines, according to Forbes.

But I think it's interesting to see who else is on the coveted list of top-paid models. Street-style sensation and Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr came in second, earning $7.2 million. She also runs her own beauty line, Kora Organics, and is the face of Mango, Lipton, and the airline Quantas.

Miranda's friend Adriana Lima nabbed the third spot on the Forbes list, earning $6 million last year. Adriana's name is practically synonymous with Victoria's Secret now (she's been an Angel since 2000), but she's also had endorsement deals with Donna Karan and Miu Miu.

Kate Moss landed in fourth place, making $5.7 million. The model, who made it big in the '90s, is looking better than ever and has contracts with beauty company Rimmel (I can just picture her saying "Get the London Look!") and Vogue Eyewear. Up next, she is featured in the fall campaigns for Versace and Stuart Weitzman.

Liu Wen, Hilary Rhoda, Carolyn Murphy, Joan Smalls, Candice Swanepoel, and Lara Stone round out this list of the 10 highest-paid models.

Are you surprised by these figures? Which models are on track to take the top spot someday?
