We're used to celebrities showing up at events draped in jewelry worth more than our life savings (who could forget Angelina Jolie's 2.5 million emerald earrings?). Then just yesterday at the Tracy Reese show, the models wore Sally Hansen polish in Scarab, a shimmery blue shade made with real silver (launching later this year). Stay short: File your nails to a short or medium length or it will look severe, Choi says.

Shape carefully: Soon recommends a gentle, round shape. "You don't want it to be too extreme-too square or too pointy," she says."It's already metallic."

Make it last: Soon, who's famous for her chip-proof manicures, uses a nail strengthener in place of a base coat. "It has better coverage," she says. After two coats of nail color, she finishes with a glossy top coat.
