Rainn Wilson apologizes for date-rape Twitter joke

No matter how funny the comedian, date-rape is no laughing matter. Rainn Wilson, a main character in NBC’s “The Office,” realized that a little too late.

“If I were ever date raped,” Wilson posted to his Twitter account Monday night, “I would want it to be to ‘Whole Lotta Love’ by Led Zeppelin.” (RELATED: Full coverage of the entertainment world)

After the post, there was a “minor uproar” over the actor’s seemingly random and out of character comment, E! reported.

He has since removed the post from his feed and replaced it with an apology. “Apparently my poorly conceived date-rape tweet upset a lot of folks. Not a good topic to joke about. Sorry & won’t do that again.”
