Afternoon Links: ‘Phantom Menace’ Will Be Arriving in 3D Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

You probably didn't forget that "The Phantom Menace" is coming to theaters next year in 3D on February 10, but nonetheless Lucasfilm has put together a trailer advertising their forthcoming cinematic event. We aren't the first people to notice how little Jar Jar is in this, but doesn't it seem surprising that they wait so long to mention that it's gonna be in 3D? Isn't that the main reason people are gonna bother heading to the theater to see this? [/film]

The closer we get to Christmas, the more of a gamble "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" seems. Amidst "War Horse" and "Hugo," will people want to see something that kinky, brutal and edgy during the holidays? We thought about this because Sony has unveiled a new poster, which we have to confess does just about nothing for us. Maybe it's because it's not very striking. Or maybe it's because Rooney Mary reminds us of Jared Leto. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Speaking of new posters, "Mission/Impossible; Ghost | Protocol" -- seriously, there is too much punctuation in that damn title to keep straight -- has a new one-sheet that shows the rest of the crew hanging with Tom Cruise. Gone but not forgotten: Ving Rhames. [Yahoo! Movies]
