Kristen Stewart. Scarlett Johansson. Kate Winslet. Sandra Bullock. They've all graced the cover of Vanity Fair's annual Hollywood issue on their way to stardom. The magazine, which alternates between more established stars and up-and-comers in the fold-out cover of the issue, opted for the latter this year, and headlined the spread "Fresh Young Stars of 2012." In case you don't recognize the glammed up gals in the photo taken by renowned photographer Mario Testino, here's a rundown of where you might have seen them or where you will soon.

Rooney Mara: One of the most recognizable faces in the pack, Rooney, 26, is an Academy Award nominee for best actress for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the big screen version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."

Jennifer Lawrence: The 21-year-old earned her first Oscar nomination for her performance in 2011 independent film "Winter's Bone," and stars in the upcoming film version of bestselling book The Hunger Games.

Mia Wasikowska: Chances are good that you've caught one of the 22-year-old's critically lauded performances, in movies such as Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," dramedy "The Kids Are All Right," and the 2011 remake of "Jane Eyre."

Jessica Chastain: If you've seen "The Help," then you recognize Chastain as the ostracized Celia Foote. She also starred alongside Brad Pitt in another film nominated for best picture, "The Tree of Life."

Elizabeth Olsen: The younger sister of twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen has been making quite a name for herself. Elizabeth, 22, became the "it girl" of independent films with her role in "Martha Marcy May Marlene."

Adepero Oduye: One of the only women of color on the cover, thanks in part due to the lack of Hollywood roles for those actresses, she's the star of "Pariah," an independent film that's earning raves, Adepero is 33, almost twice the age of the character she plays, a 17-year-old lesbian who has come out to friends but not her parents.

Shailene Woodley: The 20-year-old star of ABC Family series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" has been nominated for an Oscar for her role as George Clooney's precocious teenage daughter in "The Descendants."

Paula Patton: The wife of singer Robin Thicke, 36, wowed audiences in 2009's "Precious." The fourth installment of Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible" is a more recent addition to her resume.

Lady Gaga's Most Talked-About Looks Over the Years

Felicity Jones: American audiences will recognize the British actress, 28, who's already a well known across the pond, as one of the tortured, long-distance lovers in the heartwrenching flick "Like Crazy."

Lily Collins: Collins, 22, starred alongside Bullock in the blockbuster "The Blind Side" and Taylor Lautner (who she reportedly dated) in the action thriller, "Abduction." Next up, she'll play Snow White to Julia Roberts' wicked queen in "Mirror Mirror." Fun fact: Lily's dad, Genesis singer and solo artist Phil Collins, sang those ballads we loved back in the '80s.

Which of these lovely ladies do you think will be future A-listers?
