Clint Dempsey scores first American hat trick in Premier League, gets dirty looks

Clint Dempsey became the first American to score a hat trick in a Premier League match during Fulham's 5-2 win over Newcastle (video of his three goals here). It was a tremendous performance -- especially since it came one day after being named the U.S. Soccer Male Athlete of the Year for the second time in his career.

These were just the latest accomplishments in a season that has already been one to remember for Dempsey, though. He scored his first hat trick as a professional just two weeks ago in Fulham's 4-0 FA Cup win against Charlton and became the Premier League's all-time top scoring American in December. He now has nine league goals (just three fewer than he had all of last season) and 15 goals across all competitions this season.

While Newcastle's Danny Guthrie was giving Clint's celebration choice dirty looks, the Fulham fans were obviously a bit more jubilant...
