Time to teach the kid a lesson

Jon Jones better be ready for me on Saturday night, because he's going to face the best "Rampage" there has ever been

Now everyone has seen how nervous this kid, Jon Jones, is ahead of our fight at UFC 135 in Denver on Saturday. He’s a weird mix of looking intimidated and acting all cocky and disrespectful. He crazy.

That’s why I got no respect for this kid. He’s lucky to be champion. He didn’t earn his shot at Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, that was Rashad Evans’s shot but Rashad was hurt. Then I was offered the shot against “Shogun,” but I couldn’t do a camp in only six weeks time. Jones was at the right place at the right time and he should realize that for real.

He disrespected Shogun by signing autographs as “Jon Jones, UFC champion”, and he disrespected me too at the first press conference for this fight. I thought the press conference was going to be both of us talking up the fight, making the media and fans happy, and us being respectful but having some fun. But Jones was so cocky.

The Wolf’s Lair team is really enjoying our time here in Denver. I wish I was not so much in “fight mode” so I could go to the mall and eat or hang out because the team tells me there are some great places to eat here.

Jones is a punk kid. He don’t get it yet. He said some dumb stuff like I only fight for money. No, I fight for a lot of reasons, and one of them is to make a living.

Every chance I get, I tell people how proud I am to be the first guy to win the UFC belt and unify it with the PRIDE belt. That’s pride of a champion, not the pride of someone making some money.

You don’t see no “Rampage” lay-and-pray fights, you don’t see me going for takedowns to avoid getting punched. I always go for a big knockout. Sometimes I don’t get it, but I try every time. Guys who are just in it for the money don’t fight like I try to fight, they lay and pray or they jab and refuse to have a real fight. That’s what Jones is going to do Saturday: Run. I am proud no one can say that about me, and Jones is dead wrong to say I fight only for money.

Now this kid realizes I’m coming for him for real and getting my belt back. I am going to destroy this kid. I just hope I don’t ruin him for the sport because, honestly, I think he’s got skills and will be a great champion in the future.

Yeah, he’s got skills. He’s got some good knees and I am pretty sure he’s going to hit me with them, but he’s not going to finish me with them.

But I think I will finish this kid. I will hit him. Actually, I dreaded that Lyoto Machida fight. I looked at his way of fighting and was like “Oh man, I gotta catch him?” because I knew it would be tough to fight that style. If I could hit Machida, I can hit this kid. He’s got no experience, he’s never had any pressure on him like he’s going to have Saturday.

To my fans, I will do everything I can to give you a performance to be proud of. You’ll be able to go on the message boards and Twitter with your friends and go “Yo, my guy did a great performance.”

It is time to get my belt back!
