Get your cameras ready, AJ McCarron and Johnny Manziel are going on vacation together

The two college quarterbacks who have gotten the most attention since the season ended — some because of their play on and off the field, some because of their attractive girlfriends — are actually good friends.

Alabama’s AJ McCarron and Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel had a bro backing moment on Twitter earlier this month when they stood up for each other in an exchange, and McCarron actually told USA Today that the two QB’s were planning on vacationing together in an yet-to-be-determined exotic location.

“We’re either going to Key West or Cancun and will hang out with our other friends,” McCarron told USA Today Sports. “Me and him, we don’t ever let that (football talk) bother us. He’s a good friend of mine, and he’s a funny dude.”

It is unknown whether their girlfriends (or possible former girlfriend in the case of Manziel’s Sarah Savage) will be joining them, but there is one definite — pictures will appear on Instagram and Twitter, maybe including more pictures of Katherine Webb in a bikini.

Both players, who met at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, are social media socialites and rarely miss a chance to share a good time with their followers. We can only hope McCarron convinces Manziel to get a giant tattoo just like his.

This is an interesting relationship since Manziel’s fame skyrocketed after he led the Aggies to an improbable win over McCarron’s top-ranked Crimson Tide. That one game has created a bit of a rivalry between the two teams (it nearly knocked Alabama out of the national championship), so for these two to be beach buddies is a bit of an oddity.

But McCarron told the paper that football rarely comes up when the two hang out.

“Football is our life, so when we get away, we try to get away and not really bring that in,” McCarron said. “He’s got all the trash talk on me because he won, so there ain’t much I can talk about.”
