Source: Lakers' Jordan Hill out at least a week with hip injury

After injuries to Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol, the Los Angeles Lakers' frontline has been further decimated with the loss of Jordan Hill for at least a week, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

An MRI exam on Monday revealed a small muscle tear in Hill's hip, a source said.

Hill has been a vital inside presence for the Lakers, averaging 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.

With Howard, Gasol and Hill sidelined for the immediate future, the Lakers are embarking on four games in six nights, beginning with back-to-backs against Houston and San Antonio on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hill, 25, signed a two-year extension worth $8 million to stay with the Lakers over the summer. He joined Los Angeles in a trade from Houston last season.
