Angelina Jolie on How She Keeps Her Family ‘Normal’ and ‘Grounded’

Despite being one of the most famous families in the world, Angelina Jolie says in a new interview that she and Brad Pitt are just regular parents.

''We have a very normal, very grounded home. And we're friends, and we have a laugh with our kids,” Jolie tells Total Film. ''The great thing about having a bunch of kids is they just remind you that you're the person who takes them to go poop!''

So how do Jolie and Pitt explain to their six children why they are constantly followed by paparazzi?

"We just explain to our kids that people like to take pictures of people who make movies. And that's all it is,” says the Academy Award-winning actress. “It's not anything special about mommy and daddy - we just happen to make movies.''

While many young actresses nowadays in Hollywood express frustration with the fame that accompanies their day job, it seems that Jolie has just come to terms with it.

"I don’t think [actors need a mystique surrounding their private life],” she says. “You know the actor. You’ve seen them at award shows, you’ve seen them at premieres dressed up. So whether they share or not, their cover is already blown."

One movie Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be eager to show their children eventually is the film they met and fell in love while working on: “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”

"Yes, we do talk about [that film bringing us together],” the “In Land of Blood and Honey” director explains. “We look around at our kids. I’m not somebody that thinks about destiny and fate but I don’t walk away from it when something unfolds."

One topic Jolie remained mum on during the interview is when she plans to walk down the aisle with her husband-to-be … so let Brangelina Wedding Watch continue!
