Alabama QB AJ McCarron and center Barrett Jones have a little spat on the field in a blowout (VIDEO)

You can't accuse the Crimson Tide of relaxing late in the game with a big lead.

With the score 42-14 and a little more than seven minutes remaining in the BCS Championship Game, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron wanted the snap as the play clock ran down. He gestured wildly but center Barrett Jones, calling out blocking assignments, didn't snap it. Alabama got a delay of game penalty, and then it got interesting.

McCarron started getting in Jones' face, yelling at the center. The 300-pound center shoved the quarterback away. All the while, coach Nick Saban was screaming at the officials on the sideline.

Again, Alabama was up by four touchdowns with seven minutes left when all this happened.

McCarron and Jones like to battle each other. They talked about their combustible friendship leading up to the title game, and McCarron told AL.com that Jones "talks so much sometimes, what gets under my skin is I’ve got to tell him to be quiet in the huddle," but that's their stubborn relationship.

A few minutes later, McCarron walked over to where the offensive line was sitting on the sideline and gave Jones a hug.

"We're both perfectionists," Jones told ESPN after the game. "He's an emotional guy, and we had a snap count difference. I was right ... but whatever. It doesn't matter. We love each other and gave each other a big hug. That's just how we are, if you don't know us."

Jones also told ESPN that he didn't just have a sprained foot, instead he had a serious Lisfranc injury with torn ligaments, which could hinder him as he prepares for the NFL Draft. But he wanted to go for his third national title as a player.

"It was painful, but there was no way I was not going to play in this game," Jones told ESPN.

McCarron will be sad to see his center go to the pros. It'll certainly be less interesting without them mixing it up next season.
