Fight between Sir’Dominic Pointer and Cameron Biedscheid mars Notre Dame’s win
The frustration of having a four-point halftime lead turn into a 26-point second-half deficit Tuesday night rendered St. John's sophomore Sir'Dominic Pointer unable to keep his emotions in check.
When Notre Dame's Cameron Biedscheid appeared to flick Pointer in the face after their arms got tangled with 1:46 to go in the Fighting Irish's 66-40 victory, Pointer charged at him with raised fists. Pointer landed a couple of hard right hands before teammates and referees were able to separate them.

Both players were given technical fouls and ejected for fighting, which ordinarily requires an automatic one-game suspension. The Big East reviews every case individually, though, and it's a safe bet Notre Dame coach Mike Brey will place a call to the league office asking for lenience.
It's bigger for the Irish to have Biedscheid on Saturday against Louisville than it is for St. John's to have Pointer.
Notre Dame needs a win at surging Louisville to have a chance at a top-four seed. The Red Storm have fallen out of NCAA tournament contention regardless of the outcome of Saturday's game against Marquette as a result of five losses in their last six games.
