Best ever? Brittney Griner adds to legacy with 50 points and dunk on Kansas State
If there is any debate remaining about Baylor's Brittney Griner being the best women's basketball player of all time, she might have settled it tonight.
Griner set a Big 12 Conference single-game scoring record with 50 points in a 90-68 win over Kansas State and moved into second place on the career scoring list in women's Division I basketball with 3,123 points.
Griner moved from fourth on the career scoring list to second, passing Lorri Bauman (3,115) and Patricia Hoskins (3,122). Only Jackie Stiles (3,393) has scored more career points than Griner.
Plenty of the most memorable moments in Griner's remarkable career have come on the road or on neutral courts, but she was able to celebrate her career-best scoring effort and her impressive dunk with a record tying home crowd of 10,627 for her final home game.

It was only the fourth time Griner has dunked on her home court in a game. She has 14 career dunks, but the last time she dunked at home was during her freshman season in 2010.
Griner was efficient in scoring 50. She made 21 of 28 field goal attempts. She finished with six rebounds, a surprisingly low total considering how dominant she was in the game.
Baylor has enjoyed unprecedented success with Griner on the court, which is a big component of the argument for her being the best ever. Baylor completed a second-straight undefeated conference season tonight and has won 46 consecutive Big 12 games. The Conference has been widely regarded as one of the two best leagues in the women's game throughout Griner's career.
