Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff: The Anti-Brangelina

Last night Jack Antonoff (better known as Lena Dunham’s boyfriend) won two Grammys for his band fun., thus solidifying their status as the ultimate Anti-Brangelina power couple.

As Antonoff went up to the stage to accept the award for best new artist, he embraced Lena, who covered her face with her hands in excitement. It was clearly a winning moment for both of them. One person tweeted: “I feel like Lena Dunham won a lot of Grammys last night.” The Grammys themselves tweeted, “Lena Dunham wins best actress at the Golden Globes, and her BF wins best new artist at the Grammys. Not a bad year for them.”

Earlier in the evening, Buzzfeed tweeted: “Shhh. Lena Dunham’s boyfriend’s band is playing you guys.”

Dunham met Antonoff through his sister Rachel, who is a fashion designer—Dunham has worn several of her designs. The couple has been dating since September and even sparked rumors of an engagement at the Golden Globes, when Dunham, sporting a diamond ring, acknowledged Jack as part of her family during her acceptance speech for best actress.

Just a few days before the Golden Globes Antonoff spoke out about their relationship to Pride Source. “There's nothing awkward or clunky about our relationship. I think what probably happens when you put two awkward/clunky people together is that their awkward/clunky world seems like a normal world. And I think that's something that's nice about our relationship."

In an interview with Miranda July in Interview’s February issue, Dunham declared her love. “I know there's some rule that you're not supposed to talk about your boyfriend publicly just because it seems like all starlets under the age of 33 have decided not to do that, but if you're in love with someone great, then I don't understand why you wouldn't tell everybody.”

Not everyone was as kind about Lena’s presence at the Grammy’s. One tweeter, realizing Lena and Jack were dating, asked, “the most hipster couple ever?” Another complained of her overexposure: “After a while, it just feels like Lena Dunham is straddling America’s face and grinding us unwillingly.”

“If Fun wins #Grammys and Jack Antonoff thanks @lenadunham, will Internet trolls disintegrate like orcs when the ring hits Mordor lava?” one tweeter wrote, acknowledging the backlash.

To the haters, we say, tough cookies. It’s wonderful to see Dunham so happy, with a man who is obviously a creative equal. In the same interview with Miranda July, she said: "Jack works so much—I always say that he makes my job look like I work part-time in the gift shop at an old-age home," she joked. "He's just constantly doing it, and it gets me invigorated about what I'm doing and reminds me of what's important."
