Jennifer Lawrence reveals why she never made it as an Abercrombie model [Video]

Jennifer Lawrence may be an Oscar nominee now, but she has felt the sting of rejection.

On last night's "Conan," the "Silver Linings Playbook" star admitted that she once modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch, but her photos were never used.

When Lawrence saw the prints, she understood why.

"They were like, 'Play football,'" Lawrence recounted to Conan O'Brien with a laugh. "There's this one picture where this girl is just about to catch the football, and behind her, I'm like flared nostrils, red face, and I'm midair, like aaargh! And at one point, she screams, 'Get her away from me!'"

"I realized that they were model footballing, and I was really playing football."

That wasn't the only embarrassing story that Lawrence told the late-night host. The "Hunger Games" star revealed one embarrassing experience involving a cameo on "Monk." She believed she was playing one part -- and even told everyone at her church about it -- only to find out that she was actually playing a very different role.

And then there was the time she turned into a full-on celebrity stalker. Her object of starry wonder? John Stamos. When she met him at a party, Lawrence said, "I started really freaking out and he asked me if I was on mushrooms."

The "Full House" star rendered her nearly speechless. "I just kept smiling … saying, 'Dude, Uncle Jesse.'"
