UFC on FX 7 Fighter Bonuses: Vitor Belfort Leads the Charge with Knockout of the Night

UFC Fight Night 32 Results: Vitor Belfort Scores Another First-Round KO, Cements Contender Status

Several of Saturday’s UFC on FX 7 bouts in Sao Paulo, Brazil may not have gone as expected, but there were some fighters that delivered big, earning post-fight awards and bonuses in the process.

UFC officials doled out $50,000 each for the award winners with main eventer Vitor Belfort leading the charge with the Knockout of the Night.

Many people said in the lead-up to their fight that Vitor Belfort had to win early if he was to defeat Michael Bisping, and he didn’t try to find out otherwise.

Belfort got the better of Bisping early in the striking department, one of the Brit’s greatest strengths. He unleashed the fight finisher, and award winner, just a minute and a half into the second round.

He caught Bisping with a high left kick to the head that dropped the Brit then followed him to the mat, finishing him off with a flurry of fists.

The Fight of the Night went to the evening’s co-main eventers, Daniel Sarafian and CB Dollaway.

There’s was a back-and-forth battle that saw Sarafian dominate early, but unable to finish. Then it was Dollaway that took over in the second stanza, but he couldn’t find a way to end the fight either.

The third round presented a measure of the first two stanzas combined, both fighters having their moments, but leaving it in the hands of the judges, who ruled a split decision in Dollaway’s favor.

Preliminary bout fighter Ildemar Alcantara scored the Submission of the Night with his kneebar of Wagner Prado midway through the second round.
