Diego Simeone brands La Liga ‘a boring league now’

Second-place Atletico Madrid lost 4-1 to first-place Barcelona on Sunday, opening up a nine point lead for the still undefeated Catalan leaders. With Real Madrid 13 points behind in third place, Jose Mourinho has already conceded that it would be "practically impossible" for his side to challenge for the title and it seems Atletico manager Diego Simeone isn't much more confident about anyone making a run at Barca. So he's reached the conclusion that La Liga is boring now.

From Football Espana:

"Let's talk about the Barcelona game. I am leaving here with the flavour of a team that is good," defended El Cholo to reporters post-match.

"We have tried to be competitive and we were in the game for a long time, but this is a boring League now.

"Barcelona are playing in a different championship from the rest."

Maybe if Leo Messi scored three or four goals every game instead of just two it would be a bit more interesting. Or, in the absence of actual competition, Barcelona could do poetry readings or a series of one-act plays during matches to liven things up a bit.
