Tennessee’s Cordarrelle Patterson makes up his own trick play (VIDEO)

Apparently Week 5 is when everyone starts breaking out the trick plays and Tennessee was no exception during its game against Georgia.

Only, the Vols botched their trick play effort and it ended up being the best thing that could have happened to them.

Receiver Cordarrelle Patterson took the ball on a reverse and looked like he wanted throw it downfield. But there was no one open, so Patterson showed the country that he's more than just a really good receiver, he's got some running back in him, too.

He weaved his way through Georgia defenders and outraced them for the 46-yard score.

There was a flag on the play late because of a block in the back, but it was picked up and Patterson's scrambling touchdown stood.

At the time Patterson scored — late in the third quarter — it was huge because it brought the Vols within six points. However, Georgia running back Keith Marshall scored a 72-yard touchdown less than a minute later to regain the two-score lead.
