Adam Lambert Talks ‘VH1 Divas,’ Diva Habits, And Divas On ‘Idol’

Adam Lambert is hosting "VH1 Divas" this Sunday, joining a stellar and diverse lineup that includes Natasha Bedingfield, Paloma Faith, Melanie Fiona, Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson, Ledisi, Ciara, Metric, Iggy Azalea, Demi Lovato, fellow American Idols Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks, and even Bootsy Collins. And in case you were wondering if Adam is genuinely qualified for such a job, this interview about the show proves that he really is a true diva.

Upon checking out the interview's setting when he arrived on the scene, Adam took it upon himself to re-jigger the lighting and even adjust the camera's tripod height and angle, just to make sure I got his good side. Every proper diva, male or female, needs to know how to "find the light," as Tyra Banks would say--and Adam definitely found it.

The interview was enlightening in other ways as well. While the normally loquacious pop star was a bit mum when pressed for details about the "VH1 Divas" show (I did get him to at least reveal that the Madonna song he'll be covering is, sadly, not "Burning Up"), he still dropped a few titillating hints about this Sunday's big TV dance party. We also talked about what makes a good diva, his biggest diva habits, his favorite all-time divas...and more serious stuff, like his thoughts on the new "American Idol" diva judges (and whether he'd still like to be a judge himself), why radio programmers frustratingly didn't embrace the excellent Trespassing as enthusiastically as fans and music critics did, possible future Queen gigs, and how soon we can expect a Trespassing follow-up.

Check out what Adam had to say, and make sure to watch "VH1 Divas" this Sunday at 9pm--on VH1, of course!
