Miley Cyrus’ Unforgettable 20th Birthday Gift: a Pig!

Miley Cyrus is kicking off her 20s by pigging out!

The singer celebrated her milestone birthday on Friday, starting the day by dancing on her bed with balloons in the shape of the number 20 and finishing it by attending a private party held in her honor in Los Angeles. And although Cyrus requested no gifts — instructing friends and fans to donate to her favorite charities instead — the former "Hannah Montana" star received a present she won't soon forget: a pig!

Inspired by Cyrus' love of animals — she has five rescue dogs in addition to a slew of other pets — PETA announced that it has sponsored a rescue pig in Cyrus' honor. The little oinker is named Nora and it lives at the Kindred Spirits Sanctuary in Ocala, Florida.

"Miley proved her affection for pigs when she retweeted a PETA action alert to her 10 million followers asking them to urge Walmart to ban its suppliers from cruelly confining pigs to tiny metal-barred gestation crates for months at a time," the animal-rights organization PETA noted on its website when announcing the sponsorship. "And the singer's compassion for animals doesn't stop there. She lavishes love on her rescued dogs and consistently encourages people always to adopt and never buy. And she's striving to rid her diet of dairy products."

During a recent appearance on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Cyrus talked about her love of animals — including pigs! — and said having so many furry friends at home was hard work, but very rewarding. "I'm never bored," she noted. "I definitely feel like a mom — I'll be out hanging out and I have to go home to let the dogs out."

But it is not without drama either! Over the summer, Cyrus' English Bulldog Ziggy, which she and her fiancé Liam Hemsworth co-parent, ate some of her pricey jewelry. " "She's a stubborn little b---h, that one," Cyrus said about Ziggy to Marie Claire. "She doesn't listen to me. She's in love with Liam. She loves me when he's gone, but she totally ate my diamonds on purpose. She was pooping them out all morning!"

Lucky for Cyrus, she'll never have to worry about that with Nora! Her little piggy will remain a full-time resident at the Florida-based animal sanctuary, which is also home to cows, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, horses, and donkeys. So any and all mothering will be done from afar — and Cyrus' jewels will never be part of the pig's diet.
