Notre Dame plays one final Trick Shot Monday, on a Saturday with the BCS trophy

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Notre Dame football has gotten a lot looser under coach Brian Kelly and one of the moments they allowed to be filmed was “Trick Shot Monday,” a contest where players bounce a ping pong ball off various items in an attempt to make the ball into a cup of water.

Well, the Irish brought “Trick Shot Monday” to BCS Championship media day and this time it involved the BCS crystal trophy and ESPN sideline reporter Samantha Steele (Ponder).

And the results were mixed.

For about 11 minutes media folks stood around waiting with bated breath for someone to make the shot as players such as Mike Golic Jr., Cierre Wood, Jake Golic, Carlo Calabrese and John Goodman all tried their best and continued to fail.

It wasn’t until Steele (Ponder) took the ball and after two tries ended the competition.

It was one of the funnier moments of a long media day.
