Vandy coach James Franklin has no problem making out with his players on the sideline
Vanderbilt coach James Franklin is all about seizing the moment, no matter how ridiculous he might look.
So it was no surprise during the Music City Bowl against N.C. State that Franklin had no trouble showing safety Eric Samuels just how much he loved him for everyone to see.
Following an N.C. State kickoff return for a touchdown that cut the Commodores lead to 21-14 and a subsequent Vanderbilt punt, Samuels intercepted a Mike Glennon pass and ran it back to the N.C. State 18 to set up Vanderbilt’s fourth touchdown of the first half.
Franklin was so excited that he grabbed Samuels on the sideline, hugged him and then put his hand over his mouth and began to kiss him.
No, really.
It was, uh, interesting, and highly amusing to everyone on the sideline.
At least Franklin didn’t throw Samuels over his shoulder and carry him into the locker room at halftime.
