ZBB Energy Announces Strategic Supply Agreement With Crosspoint Kinetics to Provide Controller Technology for Hybrid Motor Vehicle Systems

ZBB Energy Receives Initial Contracts Valued at $1.36M for Controllers Integral to Second Generation Hybrid Motor Systems

MILWAUKEE, WI--(Marketwire - Nov 29, 2012) - ZBB Energy Corporation (NYSE MKT: ZBB), a leading developer of intelligent power and energy management technologies, announces a strategic supply agreement to provide controllers for Crosspoint Kinetics' second generation hybrid system. Crosspoint Kinetics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cummins Crosspoint, LLC.

Crosspoint Kinetics' second generation hybrid systems, initially serving the Class 4, 5 and 6 small to medium size bus markets in the United States, are valued for providing significantly greater fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. Many fleets throughout North America presently have these systems operating in their equipment. The system is currently in limited production and being validated through additional testing and evaluation.

"Crosspoint Kinetics has entered into a strategic supply agreement for ZBB Energy to provide the controller technology integral to this hybrid motor system because ZBB developed an innovative means to implement key power electronics functions necessary to make this system practical and effective," said John McNichols, Product Manager for Crosspoint Kinetics, LLC.

"We are very excited to be entering this market segment with Crosspoint Kinetics. They required an innovative solution that would leverage their knowledge of the vehicle market and we were able to develop a product that meets the aggressive design targets. The result is a system that can be retrofitted to existing fleets and meet the payback targets needed to penetrate this market. We look forward to broad commercialization of this second generation hybrid technology, and to working with Crosspoint Kinetics and the Cummins international distribution network to deliver products for various hybrid vehicle applications and power solutions," said Eric C. Apfelbach, ZBB Energy President and CEO.
