Texas Tech gets new ‘Lone Star Pride’ uniforms

Texas Tech and Texas will play this weekend for state bragging rights, but the Red Raiders have already won the uniform duel.

Texas Tech associate athletic director Blayne Beal tweeted out a picture Monday of Tech's new Under Armour "Lone Star Pride" uniforms made for the rivalry game.

The uniforms are red with blue shoulders with the Texas flag outlined in a star. Those same stars are on the socks and the shoes.

Texas has won eight of the last nine meetings between the two teams. Tech's lone win was in 2008 when quarterback Graham Harrell found receiver Michael Crabtree for a 28-yard touchdown with a second remaining to give the Red Raiders a 39-33 victory.

Texas Tech might have a good shot at pulling off a win this weekend considering Texas' defense has been suspect since playing West Virginia on Oct. 6. The Red Raiders are coming off a 55-24 loss to Kansas State, but they've been pretty tough this year.

Maybe the new uniforms will give Texas Tech some sort of edge.
