Get Ready for Young Hollywood to Invade New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week is about to get a youthful injection and, no, we’re not talking about a couple shots of Botox.
The twice-annual gathering will still attract its usual style icons and legendary fashionistas – no complaints here – but, this season, young Hollywood is taking over. From Selena Gomez and the Jenner sisters taking to the catwalk to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s The Row fashion show and every Chloe Moretz, Shailene Woodley, and Kelly Osbourne appearance in between, to say we’re excited might be an understatement.
And we’re going to be in the middle of all the action when the week kicks off with the Heart Truth Red Dress show – where Kendall, Kylie, and Kris Jenner are walking the runway along with Osbourne, Minka Kelly, and Jamie Chung – followed by Gomez’s big moment for Adidas. Seeing as Justin Bieber will be in town for his “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig, we expect things could get a little interesting.
Woodley, along with Olivia Thirlby and Rashida Jones, is expected to be on hand to celebrate Prabal Gurung’s collection for Target.
But that’s just day one.
We’re looking forward to seeing Moretz unveil her new ads for Aeropostale and presentations from celebrity fashion lines including the Olsens, Victoria Beckham, and Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony.
Given recent style moments from Michelle Obama and Taylor Swift, we’re expecting exciting collections and even more interesting front rows from Jason Wu and KaufmanFranco, respectively. The young ladies of the CW and ABC Family love designer Max Azria, so we imagine they’ll bring their support for his BCBG Max Azria and Hervé Léger shows.
Christian Siriano lists Sarah Hyland, Mena Suvari, and, of course, Heidi Klum among his devotees, so we’re hoping they’ll turn out in droves. And he’s not the only “Project Runway” alum making an appearance. In fact, Saturday night’s events include a big reunion party for all casts of the hit reality show.
So we won’t just be reporting the trends – although we’ll do that, too – we’ll be bringing you all the star-studded moments New York Fashion Week has to offer. Check back for the latest photos and stories, and be sure to keep up with our play-by-play by following us on Twitter.
