Dan Wetzel College Football Podcast

Ian Fitzsimmons of the "Galloway and Company" show on 93.3 ESPN Radio in Dallas and a sideline reporter for ESPN Radio college football joins this week's Dan Wetzel College Football Podcast.

Off the bat the two discuss the death of legendary Texas coach Darrell Royal, his part in the historic 1969 Texas-Arkansas game and how his option offense is the precursor to today's zone read. Things move onto Texas A&M's strong first season in the SEC and under coach Kevin Sumlin, its immense potential in the league and whether Johnny Football and the Aggies can upset everything by beating Alabama on Saturday in Tuscaloosa.

Later they discuss Bill Snyder and Kansas State, the big game Saturday with TCU and how some of the programs that were almost left behind by realignment have risen up and are driving the season. Other topics: the burning of Big Tex at the Texas State Fairgrounds, the potentially heart attack-inducing deep fried jambalaya, Gabby Douglas and the gymnastics tour, the changing dynamics of Heisman campaigns, priorities in fatherhood and great college football documentaries.
