Ryder Cup Match 2: Mickelson/Bradley defeat Donald/Garcia

The Americans drew first blood behind the partnership of Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson, winning 4 and 3 over one of the more notable European pairings of Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia.

The gamesmanship started early in this match, with fans shouting "Major winners!" (Donald and Garcia, famously, have no majors between them, while Mickelson and Bradley have five.) And Mickelson and Bradley were dialed in all match, cheering one another on and slapping backs and butts all the way through.

Mickelson and Bradley won the second hole, but the Europeans took five and six to go 1-up through eight. From there, though, it was all USA, with the Americans winning five of the next seven holes to close out the match.

The culminating moment came at the 15th, when Bradley rolled in his long putt and Donald couldn't hole out from a bunker to extend the match. Afterward, Bradley and Mickelson were full of love for one another, and it's a safe bet they'll be playing again, and often, this weekend.

Current score: USA 1, Europe 0.
