Michael Dyer’s bumpy road ends at Arkansas Baptist College
Michael Dyer has finally found a new school, but not a new team.
According Dr. Fitzgerald Hill, president of Little Rock's Arkansas Baptist College, Dyer will enroll at his school as a student, not an athlete, and work on his academics.
The school does have a football team, but Hill said Dyer has no desire to play. Instead, he's trying to earn his associates degree, stay out of trouble and possibly work his way back to an FBS institution for 2013. Dyer also would be eligible for the NFL draft in 2013, but it's unclear whether he'll be working out on his own or with a personal trainer to move in that direction.
By all accounts, this is Dyer's fourth school since December. He was with Auburn before being suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl and ultimately transferring to Arkansas State to be with former offensive coordinator-turned-ASU head coach Gus Malzahn. However, things didn't work out with the Red Wolves and he was dismissed in late July for a violation of team rules.
Then, Dyer supposedly tweeted that he was enrolling at Prairie View A&M, however, Prairie View coaches and officials knew nothing about his enrollment and it was perceived to be a hoax.
Now, Dyer bumpy read ends at the doors of ABC, a historically black college, where he can quietly get his life back together and become a player an FBS or NFL team is willing to look at again.
