By the numbers — how the ‘Fab Five’ won gymnastics gold

The U.S. women's gymnastics team won gold for just the second time in history and the first time in 16 years. What other numbers stick out from the Fab Five's win?

183.596 -- the total points scored by the Americans, which put them a whopping 5.06 points ahead of the Russians. However, it would have only earned them a bronze in 2008. The Chinese team scored 188.900 and the U.S. scored 186.525. One caveat? The scoring and difficulty from 2008 has changed.

61.465 -- the total score of Gabby Douglas, the only gymnast who performed on every apparatus. It easily beats every all-around score from Sunday's qualification round. Douglas will try to win all-around gold on Thursday.

16.233 -- what McKayla Maroney scored on her booming, beautiful vault. It was the highest vault scored awarded to a woman during the 2012 Olympics.

1996 -- the year Kyla Ross, who performed on beam and bars, was born. It's also the last time the United States won a team gold medal in women's gymnastics.

1 -- where Aly Raisman's floor exercise score of 15.300 ranks. She only needed a 10 and some change to clinch the gold for the U.S. Instead of taking it easy, she performed the best floor routine of the day.

0.267 -- the improvement in scores for Jordyn Wieber from Sunday to Tuesday. Her scores on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise went more than two and a half tenths of a point after the defending world all-around champion did not qualify for the Olympic all-around finals.

0 -- major deductions taken off of U.S. scores on Tuesday. They landed every vault, caught every release move, stayed on the beam, stayed in bounds and stayed upright.
