Video: Anirban Lahiri makes hole-in-one on Royal Lytham’s ninth hole

Anirban Lahiri sure is making the most of his first major championship appearance. The 25-year-old from India, who secured a couple more days at Royal Lytham with rounds of 68-72, came into the week as a relative unknown.

But after the shot he pulled off on the par-3 9th during the third round of the British Open, there's a good chance a couple people will remember his name in the future.

Coming off his first birdie of the day at the par-4 8th, Lahiri zeroed in on the flagstick at the 9th and hit a shot that landed right of the pin, turned directly left and disappeared into the cup for a hole-in-one.

The celebration wasn't nearly as good as John Peterson's at the U.S. Open, but it was fantastic nonetheless. With the exception of winning the tournament, it doesn't get any better than carding an ace at a major championship.
