Da’Rick Rogers leaves Tennessee, could be en route to Tennessee Tech

Da'Rick Rogers was already indefinitely suspended at Tennessee and today coach Derek Dooley confirmed that he was no longer with the team.

"[Rogers] "is not a part of our team, as expected," Dooley said during his weekly press conference.

When Dooley suspended Rogers last week after a violation of team rules, he said Rogers probably would not play this season, which led to rampant speculation that he would transfer.

Monday morning reports surfaced that Rogers was going to Tennessee Tech, but Tech spokesman Rob Schabert told the Associated Press he could not confirm the report. If Rogers did land at Tennessee Tech, he would be eligible to play immediately.

Rogers was an All-SEC selection with 67 catches for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns.

Tennessee Tech, which has Rogers former high school teammate Tre Lamb on the roster, was 7-4 a year ago and earned its first FCS playoff berth.
