Kim Kardashian plays dress-up as Diana Ross

Kim Kardashian took a break from posting photos of herself in bathing suits to share this shot in which she's made up to look like Diana Ross. However, the reaction she's received hasn't exactly been one of "endless love."

The 31-year-old "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star underwent the makeover for a photo shoot with shutterbug Hype Williams on Thursday. "Clyde Haygood and Joyce Bonelli glammed me up, and we went for a fun, crazy look, channeling Diana Ross," Kardashian wrote on her blog. "Definitely a new look for me."

And it's a new look omg! readers haven't exactly been embracing. "I don't see Diana Ross in this shot at all," writes Yahoo! commenter Derrick D. "She looks more like a Beyonce impersonator." Ffoenyx notes, "I rarely comment on a Kardashian, but this is just effin awful. She looks a mess. And the idea that someone like her would even dare to 'channel' someone who has a real talent and real career is just sad and pathetic." Meanwhile, Emily thinks, "If I was Diana Ross, I would be seriously offended."

For the transformation into the Supremes superstar, Kardashian's hair was curly and wild. Her eyelids were heavily dusted with a light blue shadow while her lips and cheeks were both painted in a soft pink. She was dressed completely in black, including studded leather pants.

Kardashian shared several more outtakes from the shoot in her blog. She's seen lounging around in between shots using her over-the-top hair as a makeshift pillow. "I love this hair," Kardashian wrote on Twitter.

This isn't the first time Kardashian collaborated with Williams for a shoot. He photographed the reality TV star for her Playboy spread in 2007. He's also worked with Kardashian beau Kanye West, directing the video for his song "All of the Lights."
