Allyson Felix leaves no doubt in the 200m
After spending much of the week focused on a tie in the 100m, Allyson Felix left no question about if she would make the U.S. team in the 200m. She blew away the field in Eugene, Ore., on Saturday night with a personal best of 21.69. Behind her was Carmelita Jeter, with a time of 22.11 and Sanya Richards-Ross with a 22.22.
"I'm so happy to be on this team. It's been an emotional couple of weeks," Felix said to NBC after the race.
Felix's teammates in the 200m will both represent the U.S. in other races. Jeter won the 100m during trials and is the defending world champ in the 100, but also won silver at the world championships in the 200m. Richards-Ross will represent the U.S. in the 200m and the 400m.

With the 200m over, Felix is now free to focus on how to resolve the third-place tie that happened in the 100m. She tied with Jeneba Tarmoh, and U.S. Track and Field was forced to create a policy in how to handle the dead heat.
"That's my teammate, Jeneba, and I love her, and we'll deal with it after this. We're going to discuss it and see what happens," Felix said.
Felix and Tarmoh have been given the option of a run-off or a coin flip. If either woman asks for a run-off, they will run on Sunday. Tarmoh said she hasn't discussed the options with Felix, her training partner.
"As of now, me and Allyson have not even talked about breaking the tie. We'll talk about that tonight or tomorrow," Tarmoh said.
The 100m will be decided later. For now, it's Felix's night, an honor she earned with a flawless 200m run.
