Tom Crean accidentally sends weird tweet not meant for the public to see

At about 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, Indiana coach Tom Crean accidentally sent a personal-sounding tweet clearly intended to be a private message.

"I am doing great," it read. "I have been thinking about you alot [sic] since last weekend. A whole lot. How are you doing?"

Crean deleted the tweet immediately and clarified he intended to send a direct message to a recruit, which is certainly better than the alternative. The Indiana coach is married to Joanie Harbaugh, the sister of NFL coaches Jim and John Harbaugh.

I fully believe this was a note from Crean to a recruit, especially since last weekend was the end of the July evaluation period, yet that doesn't make the note all that much less creepy. What coach tells a 16-year-old boy he's been thinking about him a whole lot? If I were the unnamed prospect in question, that would be unnerving to say the least.

To be fair to Crean, whatever he has been doing in recruiting has been effective lately. Crean landed star center Cody Zeller in the 2011 class, he picked up a top-10 class in 2012 and he's off to a good start again for 2013. And the Hoosiers likely will begin next season atop the preseason polls.
