Sprinter Tyson Gay got pretty bored during Team USA basketball’s big win over France (PHOTO)

You'll have to forgive us for missing this during the U.S. men's national basketball team's Olympics-opening win over France on Sunday — unlike American sprinter Tyson Gay here, we were actually awake and watching the game.

Thankfully, Gay's teammate Tony McQuay was kind enough to capture the moment for posterity and share it with the world, which even Gay, the American record-holder in the 100 meters, had to admit was a pretty decent goof:

"He got me pretty good," Gay said.

Did he get revenge?

"I haven't yet," he said.

His plans might have to wait. He's got bigger things on his mind.

Namely, preparing for the start of 100-meter heats on Saturday. Gay, who holds the second-fastest time ever in the 100 meters, will be looking to outpace Jamaican favorites Usain Bolt, who set the world record en route to winning gold in Beijing in 2008, and Yohan Blake, the current 100-meter champion. Well, at least we know he's been getting his rest.

If I were McQuay, who will compete in the 400 meters in London, I'd make sure to stay caffeinated. As we learned after Kevin Love famously "got" his Team USA teammates before the start of the 2012 Summer Olympics, revenge is a dish best served when you are out cold.

(The bunny ears were a real nice middle-school touch, though, Tony.)

Team USA will try harder to hold audience-members' interest on Thursday afternoon, when it meets Nigeria for its third game of preliminary-round play in the men's basketball tournament in London. The Americans will enter the game as 42.5-point favorites, though, so there's a chance it could turn into something of a snoozer.
