Bobbi Kristina Brown honors Whitney Houston’s birthday with new tattoo

Bobbi Kristina Brown may have lost her mother Whitney Houston in February, but she will always remain a part of her. To mark what would have been the "I Will Always Love You" singer's 49th birthday on Thursday, the 19-year-old had "WH" tattooed on the inside of her right wrist, adorned with four doves. But she wasn't the only one who went for the ink. Bobbi Kristina's adopted brother-turned-boyfriend Nick Gordon also did the same. "now your truly ALWAYS with us mommy," Bobbi Kristina wrote on Wednesday night along with a photo of her and Gordon's tattoos on Twitter. "we love you always&forever."

Although Bobbi Kristina seemed upbeat in her Twitter posts — she also is trying to get her mother's birthday to be a trending topic on the site — the tattoo brought up a lot of emotions. According to Jason King, the manager at Inksomnia in Alpharetta, Georgia, where the teen has gone before for piercings, the 30-minute process conjured "some ups and downs. She was upset, but very happy with the tattoo."

Not only did Bobbi Kristina document the event on Twitter, but she also had cameras with her at the tattoo parlor to catch it all for her upcoming Lifetime reality show, "The Houston Family Chronicles." The series, which debuts next year, will also feature Houston's mother Cissy and brother Gary, as well as his wife, Pat, and their family.

Houston's memory is also being honored by her on-screen daughter, Jordin Sparks, who co-starred together in the August 17 movie musical "Sparkle." In a new interview with Redbook, the "American Idol" winner-turned-actress revealed that Houston often acted like her real mother during filming "because my parents weren't there," she explained. "She was always asking: Did I feel comfortable? Did I need anything?"
