Nick Stahl leaves rehab, goes missing again

"Terminator 3" actor Nick Stahl has been missing for days, his wife confirms with E! News -- making this the second time the actor has gone missing in the past few months.

Stahl, 32, who has worked steadily in both film and television over the years, first went missing more than a month ago and was feared to be frequenting the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles. He turned up shortly afterward, apologized to his friends and entered rehab thereafter.

A source told E! he checked out of a rehab facility against doctor's orders about a week ago and his whereabouts are now unknown: "We are all just desperately looking for him... It's a terrible situation. We are searching, but we've had no solid leads."

Stahl's wife, Rose Murphy Stahl, confirmed with E! on Monday, "He's been missing for four days... But I don't want to comment any further."

Rose Stahl reportedly filed court papers in February describing her worry that Nick may be using drugs. He was also in trouble with the law earlier this year when he allegedly stiffed a cabbie out of his fare.

Stahl took over for Edward Furlong as John Connor in " Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." Furlong has battled his own demons with drugs and alcohol, being arrested multiple times -- most recently in 2011 for violating probation -- and has said he was addicted to heroin and cocaine from the age of 22 to 26.

Stahl has enjoyed critical acclaim with a starring role in the five-time Oscar-nominated 2001 indie film "In The Bedroom," also starring Tom Wilkinson, Sissy Spacek and Marisa Tomei. He played the lead in HBO's "Carnivàle" (2003-2005), which was also praised by critics.

Stahl recently guest starred in ABC's "Body of Proof" and has been cast in "The Unknown Son," a film due out this year rumored to be starring Val Kilmer.

Stahl and his wife have one daughter named Marlo.

Stahl has not updated his Twitter feed since May 1.
