Michael Douglas gets lighter for Liberace

After years of going gray, is Michael Douglas trying to fool the world into thinking he's younger by lightening his locks? Not exactly. His newly brown (and oddly, curlier) hair isn't for the sake of the 67-year-old actor's vanity. The lighter look is for his role in the upcoming Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra." Phew!

Douglas will star as the fabled and flamboyant pianist in the HBO film, which focuses on Liberace's relationship with a younger man and his attempts to stay closeted in order to continue his career.

The Academy Award-winner showed off his new 'do when he stepped out for dinner over the weekend in Beverly Hills with his wife of 12 years, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Matt Damon also stars in the Steven Soderberg-directed flick as Liberace's bodyguard, and he's previously revealed that he gets to share an on-screen smooch with Douglas. Despite the fact that Damon happily married to wife Luciana Barroso, with whom he has three daughters, he sounded excited to be one degree of separation away from locking lips with Zeta-Jones, 42.

"I never thought I would get to kiss Michael Douglas," Damon told People magazine few months back. "I kind of think of it in algebra terms, back to my high-school days. It's like the transitive property — by kissing Michael Douglas, I am making out with Catherine."

Not exactly, but they are both brunettes.
