Saturday’s Bristol race on alternate channels in six markets

It's the time of the year where preseason football and NASCAR collide, and on Saturday night, six local ABC affiliates will be airing the NASCAR race on different channels.

Saturday's Bristol race, scheduled to be on ABC, will be shown on ESPN in Buffalo, NY, Tulsa, OK, Weslaco, TX and Quincy IL because of preseason games. In Detroit, the race will be shown on the ABC affiliate's digital tier 2 channel, and will be joined in progress on ABC after the Lions game is over, and Rochester NY's ABC channel will show the race in its entirety on its digital channel.

In Little Rock, AR, Omaha, NE and Corpus Christi, TX, the race broadcast will begin at 6:30 local time as the local news will be aired in place of NASCAR Countdown.

So if you're in one of those markets and flip to ABC expecting the race. Don't panic, or maddeningly call your local affiliate. The race will be on. You may just have to change the channel.
