A documentary detailing Spartacus: Blood and Sand star Andy Whitfield's battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is seeking fans' help to finish the film, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Whitfield passed away at the age of 39 in September only 18 months after being diagnosed.

When the disease returned before he was set to resume filming the hit series, the star was given only a 25 percent chance for survival. Whitfield and his wife Vashti partnered up with filmmakers, led by Lilibet Foster, to chronicle his struggle while he explored his medical and alternative healing options in Australia, New Zealand and India.

Now, the filmmakers need help raising the remaining funds needed to finish editing the film. They're asking the show and Whitfield's fans to donate to the film through Kickstarter.

"Be Here Now transcends the subject of cancer and becomes a universal life-lesson about living fearlessly, going for your dreams, embracing each moment and living in the present — despite the potential outcome," reads a statement on the Kickstarter page.
