PGA Championship suspended for Saturday; play to resume early Sunday

The clouds above broke into torrential rains about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the PGA Championship, sending fans and players alike running for cover. And shortly after 6:30, the PGA announced that play was suspended for the day.

Most of the top 20 hadn't finished the third round, and indeed co-leader Vijay Singh didn't even finish the eighth hole. Play will resume Sunday morning with players taking their positions to tee off at 7:45 a.m. The leaders will then tee off the fourth round at 1:45 p.m. Players will go off in groups of three from Nos. 1 and 10, with the lower-score players starting off No. 1.

"I don't mind playing 27 tomorrow," said Rory McIlroy, who was halted at the turn, afterward. "I'll play 27, 36, 18, whatever ... you take what they give you and you go on."

As will we, bright and early Sunday morning. Currently, 10 players are within four shots of the lead of 6-under established by McIlroy and Vijay Singh.
