Michigan State will wear 1979 throwback jerseys for Michigan game
Michigan State won a national title in 1979 behind Earvin "Magic" Johnson and the coaching of Jud Heathcote. The Spartans also wore some pretty stylish uniforms back then and this season's team, ranked No. 3 in this week's Associated Press poll, is hoping to borrow a little of that positive mojo by wearing throwbacks from the championship season Saturday night against No. 21 Michigan.
The Spartans (18-1, 7-0) and Wolverines (14-4, 6-0) are undefeated in Big Ten Conference play this season and their first matchup of the year will put one in sole possession of first place with at least a two-game lead over the other 10 Big Ten teams not involved in this one.
